You don’t need Hybrid Cloud, VPC is enough!
The cloud computing world is ever growing and customizing itself to make more sense to the end consumers. VPC and Hybrid cloud both are the latest innovation in the world of cloud computing. Not everyone needs the hybrid cloud infrastructure just yet! VPC might be enough for your business!
What is a Virtual Private Cloud ?
VPC is a logically segmented cloud on the public cloud infrastructure with additional security and storage features.
The private cloud is just a more secured space in a public cloud which provides — Secured storage environment, computational capabilities and better access control over the data. Which results in higher costs than public cloud. In the cloud space big players like google, netflix and most data driven organizations use VPC to store sensitive data such as user information, payment details and login credentials. But some use on-premise data centers as well which is also a type of internal private cloud.
What is a Hybrid Cloud?
Hybrid cloud uses private cloud, VPC and public cloud infrastructure according to its security, flexibility, cost saving requirements which gives the cloud service user more security and access control capabilities.
Hybrid cloud uses realtime network connection to go back and forth between VPC (virtual private cloud), on premise cloud storage and public cloud storage or any combination of these three. Hybrid clouds are designed to leverage the capabilities and security features of private clouds for sensitive data and using the public cloud for its cost effectiveness. Hybrid cloud is a common knowledge to save the cost but comes with additional expenses like maintenance of such complex network connections of private and public clouds.
Remarks:
VPC is your first choice if you only need to store user information. So choosing a VPC will be cost-effective as it doesn’t require you to invest on-premise data storage. Only after the user data storage issue is resolved and you want to store not so intricate data on the cloud you should go for any of the available public data services. In such a scenario where you’re using both private and public data storage, a hybrid cloud concept emerges to maintain the data flow and accessibility of your data.
